A quick comparison of the audio delay in the game Rocksmith using 4 different audio playback connections. I use the composite cable's stereo RCA outputs when I play (demo #1) and the lag is almost undetectable. I could play the game with the other 3 settings with only minor issue. EDIT :: One thing that might be important here is that I have the main audio output set to 5.1 via optical. I have the PS3 set to output audio to all sources at once. With this setting, it sends 5. to optical, but only stereo to HDMI. This could be the reason for minimal lag over HDMI. I was messing around with my new Yaesu FT-950 Amateur Radio HF transceiver at my apartment in Denver, Colorado during the June 26 and 27, 2010 Field Day Weekend and I gave out a few FD contacts on the 20 and 6 meter bands. For 20 meters, I use an indoor dipole inside my apartment and for 6 meters, I use a 6 meter dipole installed on my apartment balcony. The box sitting on top of the Yaesu FT-950 is called a Rig Blaster, which is an audio/digital interface box that interfaces the FT-950 radio with my computer for digital amateur radio modes such as PSK-31 or RTTY operation. I use an indoor fanned dipole fed with one coax feed line feeding three dipoles which are cut for the 40, 20 and 17 meter bands and a 10 meter / 6 meter dipole installed on my second floor apartment balcony. For PSK-31 digital mode, I transmit with a power level of around 20 watts. I recently contacted another PSK-31 station in Hawaii running only 20 watts on 20 meters. And, speakers are an object thing. My concerns here were that the only review I could find on the audiophile web sites was for the smaller CS480 speakers. the CD480s have a single woofer and tweeter in satellites vs. the dual woofers in the CS6100 package. The reviews of the CD480s indicated that they were a bit bright, a bit lacking in mid-range under some conditions.
