Okay, just added a variable capacitor to the oscillator, and it appears to be changing frequency. I aim to get the frequency more to where I want it, meaning I have to play around with the inductor, but this shouldn't be long before this is built on some copper clad board and mounted nicely inside a shielded compartment. I plan to use buffered inputs and outputs (buffer ICs), so my various stages have little influence on the oscillator or mixer. after this, I will implement some active filters to remove some unwanted rubbish before the audio amplifier.
