Both LC circuits are tuned to equal individual resonant frequencies. One of them is a part of a 1.5Mhz radio frequency oscillator powered by 12 volts DC, while another is loaded by a 24V 5W incandescent light bulb. Brought in proximity, copper loops share a small mutual inductance, essentially forming a transformer. In order to transmit significant amount of power through this transformer a very large amount of reactive power needs to circulate in it's primary, requiring use of a thick copper tube for the conductor, and a bank of eight 6.8nF capacitors in parallel. Receiver coil's leakage inductance is in turn canceled out by another capacitor, allowing for the maximum power transfer to the load. Experimenting with copper loop orientations, one can find positions of the receiver close to transmitter where no power is received, as total magnetic flux crossing through the receiver loop is zero. Hence this is a directional method of power transmission. Due to small size of the apparatus very little power is actually radiated in far field, with losses being mainly ohmic heating. Hence this method is also sometimes known as non-radiative or near-field power transmission.

One Transistor FM Receiver. As promised in our One-Transistor FM transmitter video, we adapted our One-Transistor FM transmitter into a One-Transistor FM receiver. Many times I had noticed that when I place my home made FM transmitter near an FM radio receiver and tune the inductor or variable capacitor of my transmitter, I was able to 'bring in different stations into the FM receiver'. I had wondered what kind of interference this might be and also wondered if I could as a matter of fact, use this transmitter as in receiver with slight modification. I did not pursue that idea because my team, Itumaful, St. Udu, Prince Collins, St. Chijioke and Spako, figured out a way to use other integrated circuits to build the FM receiver for our projects. It was not until last week that I saw this video by decod31 (credit to him for posting the video and all his tips) that I decided to resurrect my passion for a simple FM receiver....and a few hours later....here we are with a decent low power, low cost FM receiver. Here we used a general purpose NPN transistor to build this simple FM Receiver. All other parts are from old electronics junks. The core of this circuit is the FM transmitter, there is only one more addition which is the 3pF capacitor acting as the receiving antenna. Our target was to use minimum voltage supply, we tried a single 1.5V AAA battery but the audio signal output was very low, so we upgraded to 3V (2 X 1.5V AAA batteries) and it gives a decent audio output ...

This gives you hands free operation and allows you to move around the hamshack. The range is typically line of sight, about 20-30 feet depending on how many walls you are having to transmit through. This interface gives you a lot of freedom in the shack to move around, surf, solder, work on projects while on the radio. This uses a Jabra A-210 interface. This interface is made to plug into a cellphone's headset connector to allow a bluetooth headset to work with the cellphone. It is an easy project to interface to your radio's microphone and headphone connector. We have also found the VXI BlueParrott B150 bluetooth headset to provide very good transmit audio. Review on my new speakers for those who are interested. My thoughts on the wharfedale diamond 9.1 Bookshelves Speakers : I'm impressed with the overall performance of the diamonds 9.1 speakers. Bass, trebles and mids are nicely balanced, built quality is also good, Those speakers will put a big smile on anybody's face, for 100 UK Pounds it's a bargain.. My thoughts on the JBL ES80 Floorstanding Loudspeakers: The JBL's performed fantastic at the store but when i took them home they lacked a bit of that lively sound, maybe it's the room acoustics (small room) but anyways the JBL worked real nice with my Pioneer Receiver, at the store it out classed many expensive speakers. I'm pretty pleased with the performance of the JBL i notice a change in audio, stereo sound has improved a lot over my old Tangent, and they also sounds more realistic than many speakers i have tested. Bass Sound: Well JBL are known for their bass but on my Pioneer Receiver i get a tighter bass sound, but i have connected my Sound MAX Audio PC Sound Card and used the Baseline feature and the neighbours started to complain :D . So we custom fabricate double din kits for are customers. In this installed we used the Kanatechs radio kit (from Japand where the mazda 6 is double din). because the customer wanted the hazard switch and the 3 lower a/c , rear defrost buttons to not be relocated (this is not possible without the Kanstechs kit because there kit includes a smaller custom board). We went with the new Pioneer Avic z140BH 7 inch double din touch screen Navigation , dvd, bluetooth headunit. We love : Ipod control Pandora internet radio direct controls (works with most internet radio apps) Iphone 4 video control and display with apps like Vevo, Netfilx, youtube, etc..
