The rubber grip on the bottom provides so much grip that I am not worried about it sliding on the top om my desk. The price of is a bit much, but playing my music through the headphone cord is obsolete. With some speakers, there is a buzzing noise when you dont plug in the cord, and a loud noise when you do. With this, it eliminates that al together. Overall, I think that you must have this because you can stream media (sound only) from your computer, iPod, iPhone or iPad.
